All children who go to school in Tanzania have to wear a school uniform. For girls, the uniform consists of: a sweater, socks, a blouse and a skirt or a dress. For boys it consists of: a sweater, a blouse, a pair of pants and socks. Next to this, the children need a sports uniform, which consists of a t-shirt with shorts. The children only wear their uniform when they are at school, in order to make sure they can use their uniform as long as possible. The parents of the children have the task to wash and alter/repair the uniforms, as we think it is important they have responsibilities. Since the children wear their uniforms daily and are still growing, we believe they need a new uniform every year.
